Thank you for being so gracious and welcoming. We really enjoyed our week in your lovely home. We are a family of 5 and our 2 teenagers enjoyed the pool, the darts, wandering the property and watching the sheep, birds and lizards. We could not have asked for more attentive hosts - even the most minor thing we asked about you quickly solved!
As a fellow conservationist I have great respect for your ability to live in a self-sustaining way, off-grid. We had NO issues with enough power, water, wifi, etc.
We really enjoyed spending our 2 weeks' holiday in your little paradise. It was great spending time in your fabulous house and peaceful and relaxing setting, waking up to the sound of sheep bells. Thanks for your great hospitality! I hope we will meet again.

Nous avons passe un excellent séjour. Le site est magnifique, nous avons pu faire de belles ballades et visites aux Alentours. La maison et la piscine sont magnifiques et nous avons vraiment apprécié le calme. Le fait qu'il n'y ait pas de voisins, un vrai luxe! Excellentes vacances.
Hemos cumplido nuestro objetivo: descansar y relajarnos. La casa es maravillosa, el entorno, la piscina, las noches viendo las estrellas y la gastronomía del lugar.

Finca Marowa was a perfect location from which to visit the historic triangle of Caceres, Trujillo and, our favourite, Merida. The tranquil setting, even with the sheep, and the splendid facilities, especially the pool, provided the ideal place to relax. Thanks to Ian & Dain for their gracious welcome.

Thank you for your hospitality. Became well acquainted with local flora, fauna and wine! Loved the diverse countryside from rice fields to open plains and extraordinary views, especially Montanchez Castle. Perfect situation for a finca! Couldn't fault the little extras - much appreciated.
Every day our love for this house grew a bit more and now we don't want to leave at all. The silence, the trees, rock stones, pool, great house and bedrooms were amazing. Of course so many things to see and do around here: lunch at Proserpina in Merida, dinner in Trujillo, sightseeing, the market in the village, hiking around; and we loved our evenings playing "petanque". Thanks so much and we hope to be back one day.

We've had a wonderful time here. It's the best equipped house we have ever stayed in over twenty years in villas and fincas in Europe! We've seen lots of birds and spent almost every day at the house or in the local area. Thank you very much for renting us your lovely home.

Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy your beautiful home, gardens and pool. It is a beautiful place to relax which is only further enhanced by the charm and friendliness of the local village. Your assistance in local knowledge and sorting out our motorbike problems was invaluable. It has all lead to convince us that we will soon be back to enjoy more of the Spanish sunshine and you will be at the top of our contact list!
Another wonderful and far too brief a stay at Finca Marowa. The weather has been kind and the bird life amazing as always – just missing the little bustard!! Been made very welcome by Ian & Dain and we look forward to returning soon.
What a pleasure it has been sharing your little corner of heaven for the last few days. The specification is top class and the views absolutely stunning. The area is full of attractions to see both from a historical and a wildlife view point. I will definitely recommend this to anyone looking for wildlife, archaeology or a fantastic place to unwind.

Our second visit to Finca Marowa and just as lovely as our first visit. It has been extra special to be able to show this wonderful place to our friends after singing its praises since last Easter. A different season but we have still seen plenty of wildlife - the butterflies have been stunning – hope to be back again soon.
Celebrating our wedding anniversary in this wonderful place was very special. Sad to leave, but will be happy to return very soon.
We travelled as a party of 7 like minded gentlemen on our annual boys trip [boys aged from 60 to 68 years old!!!!]
Having flown to Madrid and hired a car, it was an easy 3.5 hours journey to Finca Marowa on very good roads.
The Finca is a beautifully appointed house in a delightfully peaceful location.It is very well equipped for all basic needs and is extremely comfortable and welcoming.The region is ideal for walking in magnificent countryside as well as visiting some beautiful historical cities ---don't miss Trujillo and Merida for Conquistador and Roman sites.
Ian and Dain are also the perfect hosts providing information and advice on everything from shops, restaurants, walking , fiestas etc ,etc.
A fabulous place to stay and don't miss the local delicacies --iberico ham, manchego cheese and red wine from the tempranilllo grape---all superb!!

Amazing setting – so peaceful. House fantastic – all you could want. Probably came too late in the season for serious bird watching but still plenty to do (although happy to spend lazy days around the house). Owners very attentive – always ensuring we were advised re hot water/generators if cloudy days meant decreased solar power. We have had a fantastic week and are sad to leave.
This place is really quite an achievement – to have all these facilities in such a beautiful and secluded space is remarkable. We loved Trujillo and the National Park at Monfrague, even though the bird numbers were apparently down we saw a couple of dozen vultures.
What a wonderful place to stay! We loved the house, its facilities and the surrounding environment so much that it was difficult to tear ourselves away to visit other fantastic places in Extremadura!
P.S. A week is not enough!
We have enjoyed our stay in your remarkable home. We watched the spectacular flights of the birds of prey, wild cats, lizards and many other examples of fauna. The temperatures were remarkably high and this precluded any walks, nonetheless the peace and tranquillity has been rejuvenating.

We wanted a true family holiday that made memories, this certainly did that. Arriving at the house exceeded our expectations – it is stunning. Staying in a house that is truly self-sufficient is amazing. I think the set-up of solar, batteries and bore-hole is brilliant – shame we don’t have enough sun in the UK.
Ian has gone out of his way to introduce us to the rural way of life and we have seen some spectacular sights. The best bit - eating a meal, surrounded by the family, on the terrace of an evening – thank you!
Lovely house with absolutely nothing wanting. Very peaceful – nice walks around the various ‘caminos’. Try cooking pizza in the wood-fired oven!
What a lovely house, in a beautiful location and with two extremely attentive and friendly hosts. We have loved our stay in Finca Marowa and have spent lazy days reading by the pool or on the splendid terrace, or visiting Cáceres, Mérida and Trujillo. This peaceful house in a charming, and gloriously unspoilt part of the world provided the perfect tonic for busy lives at school, university and work.
Very much enjoyed our time here – a beautiful, rustic part of Spain. We loved the hiking, the peace and quiet, the rich history of the area, the Jamon Iberico – all of it. Great to see “old Spain” as it were – one feels one has stepped into the past a bit.

Our stay at Finca Marowa has exceeded all our expectations... Ian and Dain have made us most welcome, we have felt much more like friends than paying guests.
The house has everything you could wish for, comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen and the pool has been much appreciated in the hot weather.
The situation for wildlife enthusiasts is superb! The bird-life locally and in the surrounding area is wonderful. It has been lovely to sit out on an evening and enjoy the stars (without light pollution)and to be serenaded by frogs.
All in all a very memorable holiday for all the right reasons.
Staying at Finca Marowa is a delight. If you are looking for a holiday in stunning surroundings, this is it. The house is recently built and very well appointed. The eight acres of land are full of unusual plants, animals and birds. Sitting on the pool terrace above the river valley, watching the evening roosting session, with a drink in hand; was my idea of bliss!
The Finca is very well situated for days out to nearby Roman remains, national parks and unspoilt Spanish towns and villages. A car is essential for this property to make the most of the rural scenery.
